Coastal Conservation Conference

Grand Bend | by Peter Jackson

Lake Huron Centre For Coastal Conservation to host two-day conference in Grand Bend.

The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is staying focused on environmental concerns, as it celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

The Centre's Executive Director, Erinn Lawrie says the "Is the Coast Clear" conference in Grand Bend next month is a forum on shoreline issues.

For the first time, the biennial conference is being held over two days, instead of one.

Lawrie says Doctor Andrew Grunwald of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will talk about water levels, which have risen from near-record lows in just a few years.

The conference will also hear from an award-winning photographer, who specializes in shipwreck images.

Photos of wrecks in Lake Huron will be a prominent feature of the gathering.

The "Is the Coast Clear" conference runs at the Oakwood Resort in Grand Bend on May 10th and 11th.
